Curiositas researchers Ana David Mendes (CICANT – U. Lusófona) e Susana S. Martins (IHA – FCSH / IN2PAST, Universidade NOVA) recently spoke at the International Conference ‘Arts and Humanities in Digital Transition’, held in CCB, Lisbon on July 6-7. They presented the paper “Historically lost, digitally found? Cosmorama’s fragmented histories as virtual heritage”.
Their presentation focused on the potential of digital humanities and curation in retrieving and preserving the history of 19th-century Cosmorama exhibitions. Resorting to historical documentation, media archaeology and experimental research, they also discussed how building a hands-on Cosmorama prototype, can inform future digital re-enactments of this lost media.
