Curiositas is pleased to present ‘O Cosmorama. As Viagens Escondidas do Século XIX’, an exhibition opening on May 18, 2025, at the Cinemateca Portuguesa. Running until August 2, this exhibition revives the history of the cosmorama by showcasing forgotten objects from Portuguese and European collections, including Hubert Sattler’s rare views of several historical cities, and original peep devices from Portuguese museums.
Visitors will be able to explore:
- A physical recreation of a Cosmorama with historical paintings;
- A VR experience of several Cosmoramas, mapping exhibition routes and interactive content.
As part of the exhibition’s international reach, the 34th International Panorama Council (IPC) Conference on Peep Technologies will feature a dedicated panel on Cosmoramas, with IPC attendees visiting the exhibition to connect with this pioneering media form.
